Directly from Kościelisko you can enter the Tatra National Park and set off on a mountain hike or a relaxing walk. This is where the picturesque Kościeliska Valley begins, as well as the Chochołowska Valley, famous for its crocuses. From here you can reach Giewont, the Czerwone Wierchy range and many other beautiful peaks of the Western Tatras. You can explore the Mroźna or Mylna Cave, and if you prefer a quiet walk away from the crowds even during high season, simply choose one of the less popular trails such as the Lejowa Valley or Przysłop Miętusi. We will gladly tell you where else it is worth going when you stay at Domki na Wierchu.
The Tatras and Podhale region are famous for their warm geothermal waters with healing properties. In recent years, many water parks have been built here, making use of the potential of hot springs. From our location you can quickly and easily reach the largest and newest Chochołowskie Thermal Baths or the Zakopane Thermal Baths. If you wish to visit all nearby facilities, there are as many as six thermal complexes waiting for you in Podhale!
Although our Guests appreciate that Wierchowe Domki are located slightly away from the busy town center, it is worth knowing that Krupówki are actually only a few minutes away from our property. If you wish to spend an evening in an elegant restaurant or a traditional tavern with highlander music, do some shopping, or simply stroll along Zakopane’s main promenade, you can easily get there by car, bus or even on foot.
Winter in Kościelisko is never boring! Right next to our cottages there is a small meadow perfect for sledding, and just 2 km away you will find the scenic Polana Szymoszkowa Ski Station offering slopes for beginners and advanced skiers, as well as excellent sports and dining facilities. We also encourage you to try cross-country skiing – the cross-country trails in Kościelisko have repeatedly been recognized as some of the best and most scenic routes in Poland.
Regional cuisine, colorful traditional costumes, lively highlander music, captivating handicrafts and art – all of this can be experienced in Kościelisko not only during festivals but also in everyday life. Among the many events organized by local companies, institutions and associations, there are plenty inspired by the rich traditions of Podhale. You can watch folklore performances, take part in sheep grazing or taste local delicacies. In the shop at the Tourist Information Center you can buy original souvenirs handmade by local artists. If you wish to experience authentic highlander culture, you will have many opportunities to hear the local dialect and see contemporary traditional outfits.
